University Place proudly offers several different programs for students ages 3-4. We seek to provide quality educational services for all students in a safe, inclusive and learning-focused environment. Please review the program options below and select the program that will best meet the needs of your child.

Preschool
UPSD offers a Preschool Program for children, ages three through four, who have a wide range of needs.

Early Childhood Educational Assistance Program
(ECEAP) is a state-funded program for children from low-income families who are age three and four by August 31.

Transition Kindergarten
UPSD proudly offers a Transition Kindergarten program for a limited number of qualifying children living in UPSD school boundaries.
(3/24/26) Update regarding 2026-2027 Transition Kindergarten
State funding for Transition Kindergarten has been substantially reduced for the 2026-27 school year. UPSD is awaiting additional information before determining if it can continue to offer a TK program. For these reasons, we are not accepting TK applications for the 2026-27 school year at this time. We will post additional information here as it becomes available.
