For and Against Committees

Pierce County election rules require school districts to seek out community members or organizations to serve as official "for" and "against" committees for school bond and levy elections.
For: Citizens for U.P. Schools, a local non-profit and long-time supporter of school bonds and levies, recently contacted the school district to inform us that they would serve as the official "for" committee for the upcoming special election in February.
Against: No individual or group has come forward to serve as the official "against" committee at this time. If you wish to formally oppose the bond or levy as the official "against" committee, please contact University Place School District Superintendent Jeff Chamberlin at jchamberlin@upsd83.org. The deadline for appointment of these committees is December 12, 2025. Written statements from the committees must be completed by December 16, 2025.
For more information on election rules governing for and against committees, please review the 2026 Election Guide for Jurisdictions on the Pierce County Elections webpage.
